SYNOPSIS /
SINOSSI:
One of the most eclectic inhabitants of the world of contemporary American cinema, Dennis Duggan was many things: photographer, B movie actor (he even appeared, fully-clothed, in several ‘80s hardcore films), documentary maker, director of photography and teacher at the Faculty of Cinema in San Francisco. Principally however, he was a director of much appreciated feature length and short films on Super8. The feature-length “Dark Street” was finished just before his death from cancer in December 1995 at the age of 61. This documentary recounts his life and work.
Chi era Dennis Duggan? Sicuramente una delle personalità più eclettiche del cinema americano contemporaneo: fotografo, attore in pellicole di genere (eccezionalmente persino pornocaratterista che non si spoglia in alcuni hardcore degli anni 80), documentarista, direttore della fotografia, insegnante alla Facoltà di Cinema di San Francisco, ma soprattutto apprezzatissimo autore di corti e lungometraggi in Super8. Dennis Duggan è morto di cancro a 61 anni nel dicembre del 1995, appena dopo aver ultimato un lungometraggio intitolato Dark Street. Il documentario ne racconta la vita e l’opera.
